TESTAMONIAL ABOUT USE OF The Willis Ballet Educational DVD Library
This is wonderful - I am again indebted to your support of the art of Classical Ballet, and my goals of training towards a professional dance career.
If it could be of interest to you, I have included a few points below illustrating exactly how the Teaching Materials have been of immense value for my progression: - Even though I am training 6 days a week with Russian teachers certified in the Vaganova Method from renowned Russian State Choreographic Academies, the framework for training outside of Russia provides far too little time and resources compared to a proper Russian education in Classical Ballet. - Thus, the Teaching Materials you so kindly provided me with has been invaluable to my education not only by providing a qualified glimpse in the Training Method, but also very helpful for understanding Russian ballet history and culture.
- The video demonstrations by prima ballerina Galina Mezentseva directed and explained by your sister, Professor Peggy Willis-Aarnio are powerful tools, and are invaluable visual supplements to the literature, since Classical Ballet after all is a visual art, one can only infer and extrapolate a limited amount of knowledge by pure text reading.
- It is of immense difficulty for international dancers and teachers outside of Russia to access the literature and information, one would have to live and breathe the art of Classical Ballet in Russia for this - exactly what Professor Peggy Willis-Aarnio committed herself and her life's work towards, and provided a comprehensive system for both dancers and teachers in the West to learn from.
I find it wonderful that Dr. Annette T. Thomas is applying the principles of the Vaganova Teaching Method to professional figure skating - yet another proof about the power and universal advantage provided by correct Vaganova training! I applaud and is sincerely impressed by your commitment to support and disseminate the training principles of Classical Ballet, the very same principles and philisophy distilled in Professor Peggy Willis-Aarnio’s lifetime commitment and work.
Thank you again for helping dancers and teachers worldwide to commit themselves fully and correctly to the art of Classical Ballet!
